The MWF’s Annual Report 2019 gives an update on the 5G EMF Research Agenda, the most important development in international standardisation for the mobile industry, EMF regulatory developments, international collaborations, EMF media coverage and MWF communications efforts.

Thanks to the MWF’s long-term commitment and continuous advancements in these areas, the association has positioned itself as a proactive and reliable partner in promoting mobile accessibility, raising awareness about the issue and dangers of counterfeit devices and helping to address questions about the health and safety of wireless devices.
In 2018, the MWF was active in 56 countries around the world, engaged with regional organizations on six continents and worked in collaboration with a wide network of associations, standardization bodies, research institutions and regulatory bodies.

GARI’s mission – as relevant today as it was 10 years ago: GARI’s mission is to inform consumers about existing accessibility solutions in the market today and help them identify devices with features that best help their individual needs. This includes mobile phones with built-in screen readers, ‘simple access’ for persons who find today’s user interfaces overwhelming, Wearables with haptic feedback, Smart TVs that allow voice recognition for accessing features, or mobile apps that have been developed specifically to help overcome a barrier in daily life like finding accessible locations.
Throughout 2018 and across many meetings and events related to accessibility across the globe, the need for better information on available solutions as well as education of users and digital capacity building among persons with disabilities and older users, was a recurring theme and reconfirmed that having one central source of information on accessible devices is very much needed.
The report outlines the progress made with the GARI project and the MWF's initiatives on mobile accessibility throughout the year 2018.
